Not that I didnt already know it.. but it seems it gets worse with each congressman's office I call...

I just called my rep in DC and spoke to his staffer and asked.. "What is congressman's position on the Libyan war."

he said that he had just spoke about it on TV a night or two ago so he'd be able to tell me if I just held on the phone.. which I did.

He came back and said "the libyan attack was warranted."

I said "Whoa. he said that? An attack without a congressional declaration of war is clearly unconstitutional."

he said, "hold on"

he came back on and tried to say again it was warranted but when I told him it wasnt he backed down and just said,, "look we really dont know."

I appreciated his honesty even when it was an I dont know answer.

But really WTF....

Are all these staffers just worse clueless versions of aspiring congressmen-to-be?

Nah, not all of them. Many want to work in politics but haven't necessarily studied it for long.

I do know that interns sometimes answer the phones, so the level of professionalism might not be as high.
