Violating Child Labor Laws.

Wikipedia: Child labor laws in the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_labor_laws_in_the_United_States)

It took the Great Depression to end child labor nationwide; adults had become so desperate for jobs that they would work for the same wage as children. In 1938, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Fair Labor Standards Act, which, among other things, placed limits on many forms of child labor.

This was a story nearly three years ago. Since, he has appeared on America's Got Talent and was the subject of the "Tallan Latz Bill" which was introduced either at the beginning of last year or the end of '09. It hasn't made any progress.

AFAIK, they are abiding by the law, as ridiculous as it is.

Found a story @ http://gazettextra.com/news/2010/apr/01/tallan-latz-bill-stuck-senate-committee/

"...
“We haven’t had any gigs this winter because of the state,” Latz said. “We have very limited opportunities to play in Wisconsin.”

Latz last summer contacted State Sen. Neal Kedzie, R-Elkhorn, about changing the law to allow minors to perform music in taverns and similar venues until 9 p.m. on school nights and until 10 p.m. on other nights. Kedzie’s bill would require the parent to be present while the child under 14 plays a club or tavern.

“One of the ironies of state law is that a parent can buy their child a beer, but he can’t allow him to play a guitar in a bar,” Kedzie told the Senate Committee on Children, Families and Workforce Development.

yeah it is an older story but it is the first time I have come across it so figured I would post it. Regardless of age it is just as ridiculous now as it was then.
