Bill Farkas, though I never heard of him, is a musician that is affiliated with .. well..

"He's going to be a very powerful voice on our side, and besides being a major political musician and songwriter against the war touring with the likes of Lou Reed, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Hes also been maintaining a political Blog with a readership of over 4 MILLION!"

Read the blog! Urge action! You can read my comment on the page!! It's a great blog piece!

Here's my comment:

When is California going to get INVOLVED with what is potentially the biggest grassroots and counterculture movement in MY LIFETIME!!!

The war is corrupt; Ron Paul is against the war.
Ron Paul is against our personal liberties being taken away.
He's against the war on drugs. He's against the war on medical marijuana and the absurd war on hemp

HELLO CALIFORNIA!?!?! The phone is RINGING!!! Are you going to pick it up?????

Many of the dems and the repubs are alike! Ron Paul is a true anomaly! He is someone for the youth, and someone for our future! What happened to the ' peace and love ' mentality that TOOK OVER California 40 years ago?? Where did it go???

Did it get erased by hollywood? Bill, please, please do what you can to kick-start this desperate need to revive the grassroots revolution

Please bring back what America is all about!!!!!!

There is surely support from the medical marijuana community, which is pretty large in Cali. They are sick of the Feds shutting down their dispensaries and grows. I have seen the "stoner support" in many forums, they are just waiting to jump off their couches and vote for this guy! In general, anyone who wants to see legalized drugs will vote for Paul.

If everybody who was on NORML voted for Ron, that would be a lot of people.

13 states have legalized medical marijuana, and colorado almost got it passed with 43% of the popular vote. Nevada almost had it passed with 48%. I followed it along last year

I encourage everyone to go to their local headshop and talk to the people about Ron Paul.. and ask if you can put a sticker up or something. I did that in my town, and they were very receptive. Of course, the war on drugs is something I deal with. I don't like hard drugs, but marijuana is an entirely different story.

Yes but can we get them off their couches? :)

Ummm...I'm out here in CA. I live in a very conservative county (Amador County) and I've managed to open the eyes of more than one neo-con out here. Rest assured, I'm spreading the word where and when I can.

BTW, where can one get Ron Paul yard signs? I'd sure like to get my hands on a few.

Good idea, I'm going to be sure to hit up my local headshop.

an endorsement from CA by tom mcclintock would do wonders. arnold isn't well liked by many republicans, and he's probably going to endorse giuliani anyways, so whatever.

mcclintock could endorse hunter simply for being another californian, they've probably worked together on things.

I remember McClintock when he was running for governor, I voted for him. He seemed like an honest man.

Arnold was a big fan of Milton Friedman, or at least claimed to be. Since Friedman's views more or less mirrored Paul's on everything but the gold standard, I'd think we might have a chance with him.

Arnold certainly doesn't govern that way. He's spending plenty of money in the state to buy off as many constituents as he can. He talks about fiscal responsibility but the socialist legislature keeps ramming through bills and he continues to sign them.

He's even proposed a Mitt Romney health care plan for the state mandating insurance.

Arnold and Rudy are right in line with each other politically. I'd expect nothing less than the guvernator to endorse him.

Mclintock on the other hand is Ron Paul Jr.. He actually almost won the lt gov election in this state which is a pretty amazing feat considering his borderline libertarian political views that involve decreasing funding for just about everything in a state where people just can't wait for more tax increases.

Regardless, Mclintock isn't as popular as Arnold with the state as a whole, but he IS very popular with the conservative base and more notably the talk shows. The right wing talk shows are really angry with Arnold right now, and Paul, with Mclintock's support would be a good foil to that. For some reason Tancredo and Hunter have been all over the local radio circuit down here in Southern California but Paul has not....

The summer HempFest circuit will be making its rounds soon and will be a great place to promote Ron Paul. The Seattle Festival used to draw 150,000+ people over an eight hour period. I hope they have it in August when I am home visiting.
