As someone predicted in another thread, Media Matters would have plenty to say about this show. They say "more to come", LOL.

We'll have plenty more to come on this guy shortly. But here's a teaser.

Tonight, Beck's lead guest is G. Edward Griffin, a 9-11 truther (and John Birch Society member) whom Alex Jones has called a "trailblazer" and a "legend in the alternative media New World Order resistance movement. One of the last living icons, the great-grandaddies in the fight." Here's a fawning 90-minute interview Jones conducted with Griffin:

If Glenn Beck wants to know why "the media" doesn't take his conspiracy theories seriously, the fact that he hosts people like G. Edward Griffin is a good hint.

UPDATE:

Among many, many other bizarre conspiracies, Griffin has written a book alleging that cancer can be cured by the B-17 vitamin, but this has been covered up due to "the hidden economic and power agenda of those who dominate the medical establishment."

Oh, and according to Griffin's website, Glenn Beck's dismissal of birthers is evidence that Beck's "role as a controlled opposition leader is becoming more obvious."

UPDATE: Here is the "more to come", feature story on the front page of Media Matters now.

Isn't Gerald Celente a truther too? It's funny how Glenn Beck denounces truthers as all being evil leftist America haters while promoting so many of them on his show.

So Media Matters doesn't have anything to say about the Federal Reserve or what was discussed, but instead goes for character assassination.

What a pointless organisation.

Depends on how you feel about what matters to the media.

No, they haven't said anything about the content of the show, other than they apparently thought the following was notable:

The Clintons started Media Matters I believe to counter the "great right wing conspiracy" being bandied about at their expense. LOL

How is Jekyll Island a fucking conspiracy?

I mean, they celebrated it publicly just a bit ago, at Jekyll Island! It was put into national press and mentioned on the news channels. The anniversary of when the bankers first came up with the Federal Reserve. Most people had no idea what they were talking about, but it was a the spitting in the face of those who actually study the Fed.

Some people are so into conspiracies, they'll believe any theory that is ever talked about. Then there are organizations like Media Matters who are convinced conspiracies cannot happen, even though prosecutors convict people of conspiracy all the time.

At the time it was a secret conspiracy. They knew the American people would have rejected the idea of having bankers draft up legislation to fight ... the bankers. They had to do it secretly.

I know, but the fact that people say that Jekyll Island is a conspiracy theory nowadays makes no sense.

It's like the moon landing conspiracy. I don't believe that crap. But if NASA had on their official site where they had a huge section on how they faked the moon landing, you bet your ass I wouldn't think it a conspiracy theory anymore.

"So what if private bankers met on Jekyll Island, it's no conspiracy - they simply met to fix a broken monetary system and now the U.S. dollar enjoys the status as a safe-haven and the reserve currency of the world". That's what they'll say. But the conspirators' words betray them (all quotes are found in Creature from Jekyll Island):
http://emazur.freeshell.org/Junos_Temple_01.html
“Before the passage of this Act, the New York bankers could only dominate the reserves of New York. Now we were able to dominate the bank reserves of the entire country”

- Nelson Aldrich, The Independent. July 1914

"The results of the conference were entirely confidential. Even the fact there had been a meeting was not permitted to become public. Though eighteen years have gone by, I do not feel free to give a description of this most interesting conference concerning which Senator Aldrich pledged all participants to secrecy"

- Paul Warburg, The Federal Reserve System, Its Origin and Growth. 1930

"Despite my views about the value to society of greater publicity for the affairs of corporations, there was an occasion, near the close of 1910, when I was as secretive – indeed, as furtive – as any conspirator... I do not feel it is any exaggeration to speak of our secret expedition to Jekyll Island as the occasion of the conception of what eventually became the Federal Reserve System... If it were to be exposed publicly that our particular group had got together and written a banking bill, that bill would have no chance whatever of passage by Congress"

- Frank Vanderlip, Saturday Evening Post. Feb. 9, 1935

See, you're obviously an anti-government racist. You have to believe the official government line, as told at the time of the incident. Otherwise, you're just a communist.

/sarcasm, just in case anyone was wondering.

Jekyll Island is now publicly admitted and documented, but it was still a conspiracy.

1. the act of conspiring.
2. an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons; plot.
3. a combination of persons for a secret, unlawful, or evil purpose: He joined the conspiracy to overthrow the government.
4. Law. an agreement by two or more persons to commit a crime, fraud, or other wrongful act.

Media Matters is so biased they didn't even cover FOX News' Ron Paul gaff from CPAC. All MM is good at is attacking people, yet they complain that others attack them and other left-leaning people. The obvious troll is obvious (Media Matters).

Media Matters is calling on The Cato Institute to apologize for simply appearing on the show, LOL. I'm sure they'll get right on that.

The Cato Institute Should Apologize For Legitimizing Beck's Anti-Fed Conspiracist
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201103290031

The Cato Institute is a Washington think tank that strives to advance libertarian ideas through credible methods -- writing research reports, publishing books, and hosting policy forums. Calabria has served as a Senate committee staffer and as a deputy assistant secretary in the Department of Housing and Urban development. This all contrasts starkly with the fevered conspiracy theories that are Griffin's stock-in-trade.

Whether Calabria knew that he was going to appear with Griffin or not, he and the Cato Institute should apologize for helping to confer legitimacy on Griffin and his fringe ideas.

...

Glenn Beck brought Calabria on his show to validate Griffin's ideas about the Federal Reserve. In the process, Calabria helped to legitimize paranoid conspiracy theories that have no place in our national conversation.

Again, he and the Cato Institute should apologize.
