Would Paul even support much federal assistance for this anyway?

thats not the point, they aren't at the federal assistance threshhold, but using the national guard for help would seem reasonable, or at least not having to rob the border guard to get help.

so far the care that is being taken on this as far as state wise is supposedly going well, and its not like california doesn't expect to have to deal with fires, mudslides and earthquakes, so they have a lot of resources for that.

but they are a border state and having national guard matters to them quite a bit, having a US border in a blaze and noone there to help hold down the rule of law on the borders during the chaos is a major national security disaster if nothing else.

in the public opinion sector though this endorses Ron Paul's statement that having the national guard in iraq makes us less safe when something bad happen here.

I wouldn't think so, but we are paying federal taxes right now. They SHOULD be there. But we know how our govt is

Ron Pual would use the national guard to fight fires, of this I am convinced, and the second amendment calls for a national guard.

Ron Pual would use the national guard to fight fires, of this I am convinced, and the second amendment calls for a national guard.

That is precisely the same misconception the gun-grabbers are trying to use to wipe out the 2nd ammendment.

1. The state governor should call in the national guard, not the president
2. The national guard didn't even exist until a century after the Constitution was written; therefore the 2nd ammendment absoutely DOES NOT "call for the national guard"!
3. The militia is all the people; you and me. No military, no government, just us. As soon as you start saying the militia is somehow part of or obliged to the government, you wipe out the 2nd ammendment; just what Pelosi and her other Nazi pals want. The bill of rights is about guaranteeing OUR rights. Correct!? It does not give the government the right of free speech, or freedom of assembly. It doesn't give the government the right to print whatever THEY want in a newspaper, right? If all the other ammendments are about protecting the rights of the people, why on earth would the 2nd be about protecting the rights of government? As if they needed protecting!
4. Please choose your words more carefully.

Bush Lied, Celebrity Homes Died?

:: tin foil hat on :: It's a vast right wing conspiracy to burn down the homes of Hollywood actors' homes. All because they disagree.

so the FEMA director was just on MSNBC and she asked him if things would be better if more National guard was home from iraq and he said "Iv'e heard that rumor several times today"... and its not true we have plenty of national guard 17,000 in CA and 1500 of them have already been deployed to katrina... YES he accidentally said katrina and then didn't correct himself . HAHA HA
