Article from Weigel: (http://www.slate.com/blogs/blogs/weigel/archive/2011/03/23/newt-gingrich-completely-changes-position-on-libya-in-16-days.aspx)

VAN SUSTEREN: What would you do about Libya?

GINGRICH: Exercise a no-fly zone this evening, communicate to the Libyan military that Gadhafi was gone and that the sooner they switch sides, the more like they were to survive, provided help to the rebels to replace him.

LAUER: Do you think Moammar Qaddafi has to go as a result of this intervention?

GINGRICH: Let me draw the distinction. I would not have intervened. I think there were a lot of other ways to affect Qaddafi.

I like this comment below:

His standard is simple: If Obama is for it, he's against it. When Obama flipped, Newt flipped. Simple. If Obama decides to stop pounding Libya, Gingrich will say he should continue.

One flips, the other flops. One flops, the other flips. Just like a dance.

Don't look now, Newt, but Barack seems to be leading...

more likely he was speaking to his audience... he's gonna be pro-intervention on fox and anti-intervention on nbc...

Hey, Newt, this is the age of the internet. Once upon a time you could say something that was completely different but sounded just as good every week, as your core supporters had neither short- nor long-term memory. Now people point cameras at you, and you can't count on the MSM to throw it down the memory hole after two weeks. Remember?

The most sinister of all is the very question of what we should do!

The question itself implies we must do something.

This is probably it. Gingrich is such a shameless self-promoter.

What other kind of fool excuses adultery by saying he was so focused on being patriotic, he just had to cheat on his wife?

Very good point.

Great Response!
Newt's burn't toast... Would be nice if this is the end of his exploratory. The GOP is going to run a, "we would have done it sooner, and Obama is indecisive." But in the scheme of things, would 11 days make any difference in the outcomes of Iraq and Afghanistan? What fools they are to try and convince us, that a week or a month or a year makes any difference when the US attacks a sovereign nation. To bad so many people are too weak minded to see through this neocon card shuffle.
