Fred Barnes just said on FNC's Special Report that "Nothing good happens in the world unless the U.S. leads." I cannot imagine a more ignorant statement. Apparently, for good things to happen, the U.S. needs to drop bombs. Was everything that happened before the U.S. was a world superpower bad? I mean really, this is the type of logic of neoconservatism?

I also like the attacks against non-U.S. leadership. One of the talking heads said that without U.S. leadership, we could not decide the mission, and that would be bad. Well, how do you think France and the UK feel? Oh, their feelings don't matter, I guess. They're just our pawns. Pawns don't get to vote, unless we let them.

Since FNC is effectively a propaganda arm of the War Party, this comes as no surprise. Like left-liberalism, neoconservatism does not strive to really pose or answer big, lofty questions-only manipulate Boobus Americanus.

I know, watching Fox News when two organized groups are shooting at each other on a large scale is like watching an orgy. They seem to get all excited. "Yeah, we're dropping bombs!!!" I mean, they preempted Ron Paul's Huckabee interview (not surprising) to broadcast reruns of the missile porn.

Why does the U.S. have to be the de facto fighting force? Why do we need to sacrifice our blood when it's largely a European matter?

Because nothing good happens unless the U.S. leads, dummy. You must be one of those pinko-communist pacifists, aren't you? How dare you oppose our military in a time of war!!!

I hate that line of reasoning. It stems from this idolatrous view of "American exceptionalism," promoted by such "priests of the state" as Sean Hannity. To them, it's like America can do no wrong.

If they are worried about the so-called lack of leadership, it's not that such a lack of leadership exists (because our leaders are being led by something, in this case, the U.N.). It's just that the warmongerers on the Right don't like the method in which Obama is leading us.

Because the US is no longer a sovereign nation. It is the enforcement arm of the UN.

I sometimes want to rip my hair out when I hear a "Christian leader" talk about American "exceptionalism." It's just so anti-Christian. Nope, America is just like every other country on the face of the planet in the end run. Some of these guys value the American Federal government over any other earthly institution. It is almost like the people in other countries are inherently less valuable. Who cares if an Afghan family loses a father or beloved son? They're just "collateral damage.'

This doctrine needs to be expelled from the Christian vocabulary.

What was most irritating to me was the reaction of some friends who are left-leaning. If Bush had done something similar they would have pilloried him for it, but instead Obama gets the benefit of the doubt. The words specifically, "I don't know, there's a lot going there so I won't leap to bash him or defend him." Any criticism of Obama based on his hypocrisy of running on an anti-war platform falls on deaf ears.
