I decided to call my representatives to inform them that I do not approve our engagement in Libya. I cited the U.S. Constitution, the War Powers Resolution, Obama's own 2007 statement on sending troops without Congressional approval, and U.N. Charter article 2. I had stressed that regardless of Gaddafi's conduct, the President was in violation by sending our troops without Congressional approval, since there was no imminent threat, nor did Obama cite imminent threat as part of his justification. Finally, I encouraged them to stand up and voice opposition against the President's decision.

Congressman Kevin Yoder (R) Kansas 3rd District
D.C. (202) 225-2865
(Obviously, you'll have to find your own representative if you're not in the 3rd District)
-No official opinion on Libya at the moment.
-Apparently people were flooding the office with calls on the issue.

Senator Jerry Moran (R) Kansas
D.C. (202) 224-6521
-Opposed the fact that action was taken without Congressional approval.

Senator Pat Roberts (R) Kansas
D.C. (202) 224-4774
-No official opinion on Libya at the moment.

If you live in Kansas, and have not done so, I encourage you to contact your representatives.
