Community Organizing: Any Number Can Play
Several days ago, I ran across an article in Roll Call, a Washington DC magazine with liberal bona fides, that the Democrats are looking to Twitter as their secret weapon to win back the House in 2012. http://bit.ly/dQpqxN This article served to remind me of the spectacular job the left did in winning the Presidency and both houses of congress in 2008, much to the detriment of the country.
A few days later, I had a confrontation with a lizard from the left on Twitter. He claimed that he had a ‘grant’ to find ‘bigots’ (read conservatives) on Twitter and identify them to his sponsors. He wasn’t too bright, so I goaded him into demonstrating that what he said was so. To my delight, the moron produced a list of some 4800 ‘conservative bigots’, many of whom I knew from Twitter exchanges.
Simultaneously, I have been encouraging the Republican leadership in the House to attach an explicit defunding of Obamacare to the budget for the rest of the year, and send it to the Senate. That would put Reid, Schumer and Durbin in the uncomfortable position be being the ones who shut down the Government. Call their bluff, in other words. It is apparent that we need to assure the House Republican leadership that the people are solidly behind them. And, to the Democrats point, there is safety in numbers, and in the power of community organizing. This idea of community organizing on the right is not a new one. Here's an excellent article (http://gregwhoward.com/wordpress/2011/02/operation-brush-fire/) written by my friend Greg W. Howard last month about organizing conservatives on the local level.
So, being a person whose occupation makes him very comfortable in manipulating and handling large volumes of data, I harvested his list, loaded it into a database, and, after talking with a few of my Twitter patriot friends, decided on a plan to organize that community of patriots, kindly harvested by our nemeses, and to use that list as a basis of communicating and operating as a group to help save our country and preserve the ideals of our Founding Fathers. We owe it to our children to preserve for them the liberties that our forefathers won for us!
Since you have arrived at this page, it is most likely that you received a tweet alerting you to its existence. That means that you were on the 'patriot' list compiled by our wily adversaries!
I ask you to do these things:
Follow every person listed in the tweet, including the sender if you have not already.
Follow @MrPaladin, the curator of the list, and he will return your follow. This will assure that you will continue to be a member of this group
Send a tweet referencing #twitterpatriot
If you have friends of a similar conviction who would like to be included, send their Twitter names to twitterpatriot@gmail.com with a short explanation, and we will be sure to include them on our next list.
Please feel free to offer any comments of suggestions at the bottom of this post!
4800 names... I wonder where the low hanging fruit is...
