For the longest time, Rasmussen Reports' daily presidential tracking poll made specific mention of Giuliani, Thompson, Romney, McCain, and after the Iowa straw poll, Huckabee. Just today, however, Ron Paul was finally considered significant enough to also be included in their list, at 4%. Huckabee had been at 4-6% for a long time and somehow just recently (maybe due to the values voters thing?) managed to move up to a somewhat stable 8-9%. Hopefully the same will happen to Paul.

This move is significant. Coupled with the inclusion in Pollster.com's (http://www.pollster.com/blogs/charts_swapping_gingrich_for_p.php) rankings, we're solidifying our gains.

The Rasmussen guys are essentially the house pollster for the Bushites, so if they're willing to admit Paul is at 4, he's really at 8.

This may not seem like a lot, but this is actually pretty big news. Rasmussen Reports is one of (if not THE) most trusted and accurate polling firms in politics today, they take a poll every single day, and they normally only poll the names of the top presidential primary contenders. Up until late August, they only polled for Rudy, McCain, Romney, and Fred. After Huckabee started moving up, they added him to the poll. Rasmussen has now added Ron Paul as the fifth top tier candidate to be included in their polls.

According to Rasmussen, one of the most accurate surveys of likely Republican primary voters, Ron Paul currently stands at 4% support. This is double what most of the other name-id-focused big media polls are giving him.

Check out the latest Rasmussen poll today:

A gentleman's 4%. That's good considering that most people don't know who he is yet. Our supporters will get out the vote much better than any other candidates will.

Gallup, Rasmussen, and Zogby are the most important polling firms, in that order.

So that's 4%, 4%, ?%

Anyone have Zogby? Anyway, we're looking sharp.

Good stuff, as primaries approach we will gain even more name recognition and will move higher in these polls

This is big -- the campaign is moving up! The latest USA Today/Gallup has us at 5% nationally, I can't wait to start seeing the 6s and 7s.

The last line of defense they have against Ron Paul is that he's "mired in the low single digits in scientific polls." Once we get up to 6-7%, it's time for liftoff.

The campaign is doing great!

4%+ usual 7%=11% 4/11= 36%+4% normal votes

If all RP supporters show up, we've got 40% of the vote.

Thats a win.

7% would be an unusually high MoE.

I believe the 7% he used was voter turnout, not MOE

That would be a strange calculation that doesn't make sense, in that case.

Rassmussen says today:

At this point, it’s fairly easy to note that Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Duncan Hunter are not going to capture the nomination.

That's the only mention I see about Paul.

Presidential Nomination. The top four candidates are within eight points of each other and 16% of Likely Republican Primary Voters are undecided. Rudy Giuliani is now supported by 22% while Fred Thompson is the top choice for 18%. Mitt Romney earns 15% of the vote while John McCain is at 14%. Mike Huckabee, in fifth, is only 13 percentage points off the pace with 9% support and Ron Paul has moved up to the 4% level. (see recent daily numbers). The more you look at the numbers, the more you realize how wide open the race has become.

Rassmussen said this?! Man, professional polling services are not even allowed to say things like this. That is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. This scews stats!

 They're allowed to provide commentary on their own polls. Don't worry, we'll prove them wrong.

Can someone explain this? What does the 4/11 mean?
