He did, but what I want to know is: has he seen V yet? Does he know WHY the detractors don't like the connection? I didn't get the impression that he had a clue.

lol, yeah the scruncher thing was really funny - he basicly said that november 5th wasnt organized by the campaign, but he doesnt see how anyone could oppose it if the community wants to raise a lot of money on one day.

Hope there are a few converts out of his 500k audience. I'd like 1/5 of them to show up for the November 5th donation. It would rock to have the full 100k donors we are looking for. I just hope the RonPaul2008 site can handle it.... we might want to warn them ahead of time to get ready for the huge donation days.

I thought his answer was pretty good too. Pointing out the abortionist trying desperately to kill the baby moments before it's born rather than moments after, so as not to be a child-murderer...priceless. Hyperbole? Sure, a bit. But it does make you think more carefully about the issue.

Sadly, it won't get past the Compaq screen, so I have no idea how to backup anything. So much irreplaceable stuff, baby photos, 2 years worth of my research stuff...:(

You might be able to access it by booting with another hard drive and then accessing the data that way.

You can either get another drive, install the OS and then make your old one a slave to access the info, or you can by an external case and get it that way.

That is admittedly a lot of work. I recommend taking it to a computer place like comp usa or something and see if they can do anything with it.

Quick... power it off. Don't try to get it to boot any more. The "tap dance of death" is a common symptom in drive failures due to head crash.

You have one chance to get your irreplaceable stuff off, without spending thousands for lab-recovery. And, unfortunately, this one chance is only about 30% successful.

Order a USB to IDE adaptor like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812119152

Open up the computer (the item linked will work on laptop and desktop systems with IDE/ATA or SATA drive), remove the hard drive. Put it in a zip-loc bag and stick it in the coldest part of your freezer.

When the adapter arrives, unpack it, get a working computer ready to receive data (power it up), remove hard drive from freezer and connect to adaptor w/power. Let it spin up, plug in the USB port, then as soon as the machine recognizes the drive, dig through your files and start copying them to an allocated place on your working computer's hard drive.

Work fast. If this trick works you can get as little as seconds before critical failure, or as long as hours.

Again, there's no guarantee, but certainly worth a try to recover irreplaceable data.

Good luck.

Edit. Apologies for the off-topic post, but I just want to try to help out a fellow RP supporter. Hope it works.

Great interview! I think Adam was really impressed actually being able to hear answers from Dr. Ron as he calls him. There was a great moment when Adam made Ron giggle...and it wasn't a fake politician laugh either. You could tell he's a genuine guy. The news about him donating $2300 was awesome too. He has a new listener for sure.

A PAC can donate up to $5,000 to Ron, so yes, that's one idea. PACs can't support a single candidate, though. I'm not sure exactly how they enforce, but I suspect much of what we do is riding the rails on what is legal.

Does anyone know if and approximately when this might be uploaded to Google video or Ron Paul radio? This is a great interview, but a little difficult to figure out how to listen to for some of the less computer-capable users of the Internet.
