There's a guy named "EconomicMayhem" on Twitter who links to a bunch of threads on the Forum, and today this one was one of them.

I caught part of his speech and I think he said something about Japan's nuclear reactors being a source of "peaceful energy."

I'm torn. I want to know, but I can't stand listening to him preaching that this crap is necessary. I usually wait for the transcript, which I can read more quickly.

I suppose it IS peaceful energy in the sense that oil is warful energy. And in the sense that slow death due to radiation sickness is more peaceful than being shredded by Americans dropping cluster bombs on your house, which seems to be inevitably associated with oil. Although a fast and violent death might be preferable to a slow, peaceful one.
