I generally agree with the overall argument Ron makes, but....

Did foreign policy end the USSR or socialism?

Yes, the sheeple do support declaring war on Afghanistan and so did Ron in 2001.

The declaration of the war argument is laughable, as if a vote was held tomorrow in Congress, we'd (the American public) vote for war. Ron is wrong, imo.

I hope this resolution passes, but I don't think it has a prayer.

It can't be both?

Yes, the sheeple do support declaring war on Afghanistan and so did Ron in 2001.

Actually no he didn't. He put forward a bill to declare war on afghanistan but said he would vote against it but wanted it on record. Henry Hyde told him that part of the constitution was outdated and unnecessary. He voted for the authority to go after Al-Queda.

If so, then why did they refuse to ever bring that bill forward? They wouldn't because none of them want to be on record as declaring war.

I think your wrong and I think Ron knows that there is probably a slim to none chance that a majority of congressmen are going to go on record with a declaration of war.

Let's presume it did pass. Then that would be the "constitutional" way to do so and there would be clear and determined endstate as is defined by a declaration of war. At least then it's the people (see legislative branch) sole authority to be held accountable and reap what they sow, instead of leaving it to the executive branch to decide. The way it stands now Congress gets a hands off approach and little accountability.

Interventionism is socialism applied to foreign policy.

Claiming one, one day, and the other the next doesn't build credibility, imo. Instead, he and others, put out this blanket statement without any real proof, imo.

Actually no he didn't.

He has implied that he did, and his own son even thinks he did.

If so, then why did they refuse to ever bring that bill forward? They wouldn't because none of them want to be on record as declaring war.

The reason: because only Ron Paul supporters make this ridiculous argument, imo. And many are proud of their vote for authorization of force, so I don't buy the end of your statement.

sorry, I think I just posted the same thing. It had a different 'freeze frame' but I think it is the same. The mods can take mine out. I couldn't tell, from the title.
