As an ex cigarette and occasional cigar smoker, I can't say I'm not enjoying some well deserved Schadenfreude over this.

You won't be able to cook bacon in your apartment before much longer, as the smell will offend the devout.

Nevada bill raises a stink over what's stinky (Stupid headline is stupid-AF)

http://www.nevadaappeal.com/ARTICLE/20110315/NEWS/110319751/-1/RSS

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Critics say a Nevada bill banning air fresheners and candles in public places would lead to stinky rooms and prohibit priests from using candles in Mass.

Las Vegas Democratic Assemblyman Paul Aizley on Monday presented AB234, which sets restrictions on pesticides, fragrances and candles to accommodate people with chemical sensitivities. Proponents said air fresheners give them migraines or asthma attacks and prevent them from going to the movies or to restaurants. A cocktail waitress at a casino said inhaling the fragrances piped through the ventilation system felt like a concrete slab on her chest.

Critics counter AB234 would affect everything from candlelit restaurants and weddings -- not to mention unmasked odors in public bathrooms that would drive away tourists. No action was taken by the Assembly Commerce and Labor Committee.

No, but I could dig up some cane, or maybe we'll just go the low-tech soap n' sock route.

It's like, if you were allergic to peanuts and you realized you were in the vast minority of people with this allergy...your solution would be to lobby the government to ban peanuts.

Too many people in this country have the mentality that if they don't like something, "there oughta be a law." It pisses me off to no end. Everyone wants to be a dictator and few want to respect the rights of those around them. It's why smoking is being banned in restaurants. I always said, if you don't like it, either sit in the non-smoking section or eat somewhere else! sheesh

I've heard oranges or other fruit work better. :)
