For all who never saw this thread:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?277900-Arizona-House-votes-unanimously-to-ban-spice

I contacted the representative who co-wrote the bill and finally got an interview with her. It turned out to be fairly long but I made a video with a few key parts.

I didn't have any of it planned out and she kept interrupting me the entire interview so I was talking faster and started stuttering at a few parts lol. Gotta work on that for future interviews.

*video removed*
I like that 5 minute mark part the best. :D

"So you're saying then that the government shouldn't impose any kind of infringement on your rights?"

"Right"

"None at all?"

"Right"

"Really?"

Wow, that's a gem man. Wow, lol.

You kind of got off the mark with the cocaine though.

You should have taken on the opportunity when she said "Those drugs infriinge the rights of others because it alters your state of mind" to blast her and ask about: alcohol, caffeine, prescription medicines, etc.

Yeah there were so many ways to go in every topic I couldn't really decide what to say....the interview actually went on for 48 minutes lol and I brought up alcohol several times.

If I ever interview someone else I'll definitely prepare for it.

Edited out the last minute of the cocaine part....after watching it, it didn't really go well with the rest of the video.

There was no focus on the failings of prohibition.

When she used the example of someone on meth who commits a crime - You could have pinned her down and asked how could someone be on meth if the gov't has banned it?

She would have likely mumbled something about how a ban doesn't work all the time.

Then ask her what good does it do to ban spice? If you know it's not going to work. Wouldn't the money and resources spent enforcing the ban be better used elsewhere? (Like locking up the meth addict for life if said addict commits a violent crime against others while on meth.)

Yeah I talked about prohibition too. The first video I posted here had an entire minute of me telling her why prohibition created crack cocaine but I took it out. The entire interview was 48 minutes but near the end she was in such a hurry I didn't have time to go into everything in detail.

I told her about Milton Friedman estimating the war on drugs costs 10,000 lives a year, I told her some economists estimate the war on drugs costs $50 billion a year.

Her answer to everything was "So you just give up fighting?" - basically the same b.s. response as neo-cons have to wars like iraq.

I buy my crack, my smack, my bitch,
Right here in Hollywood,

Nearly 2 million Americans are incarcerated
In the prison system, prison system

They're trying to build a prison

All research and successful drug policy shows
That treatment should be increased,
And law enforcement decreased,

Utilizing drugs to pay for secret wars around the world,
Drugs are now your global policy,

Drug money is used to rig elections,
And train brutal corporate sponsored
Dictators around the world.
