I was wondering why we don't reach out more to hip hop listeners in relation to Paul's message. I'm a huge fan of the genre, and I think artists like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco and others have amazing songs against American foreign policy, typically how it relates to the poorer urban Americans who are exploited and shipped off to war.

I just want to share a few videos with everyone:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkUoI0n4NmI - Beautiful Struggle by Talib Kweli (light political message against the existing political system, hook and verses focus heavily on the idea of Revolution)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87t26tccbyU - The Proud by Talib Kweli (focused mostly on plight of urban poor in relation to national tragedies, but carries tones of America having it's own problems to be dealt with. Nothing about foreign policy, just about abuse of propaganda related to terrorism. Was released in 2002 when discussing these things was pretty taboo)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34NgzB-PLzc - American Terrorist by Lupe Fiasco (contains paradoxes about the treatment of foreigners and Muslim's as terrorists while we ignore our own domestic issues)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tD5WlQ54Sg0 - Tell The Truth - Mos Def/Eminem (Could be seen as a truther song based on the hook, but the verses are amazingly in tune with Paul's message)

Mos Def also has a lot of anti-bush music like Katrina Klap, Eminem does too for that matter, but Em's stuff tends to be too aggressive for me. Still, it's all good for the media to be setting these tones in young people. They are aiding us in bringing change in ways that most of us never can. Within the minds of the listeners.

And they say there's no rebellious music protesting this war? That's because this generation is too smart to protest a single war, we protest the whole damn system :D

If you have any hip hop songs, or any ideas how we can use this to help the campaign, discuss it here. I hate to suggest name dropping Ron Paul in the comments on videos like that, because I think we need to reach outside of the internet.

Anyone who goes to hip hop shows like myself, wear your RP t-shirts :D

Have you not heard the (at least) 2 RP hip hop songs? I'll try to find the links.

OK, go to Ronpaulaudio.com and scroll almost to the bottom. There are some songs listed there. King Solomon and Knights of Liberty both have hip hop songs. Also, the Three Shoes posse is kinda reggae. Might be good too.

I think there is one more hip hop song somewhere. They all have youtube videos to go along with them.

I've heard one, but they're done independently. The music I'm talking about is by very well known artists with broad messages.

The biggest issue that I've noticed is that they can't see past the name Bush. They realize the policy is fucked, but they think of it as a Bush problem, and I think this causes them to lean democrat in their personal ideology :(

I know, but if you were to burn all the ron paul hip hop songs onto a cd and pass them out at hip hop concerts, could make a difference.

I have ALWAYS thought we should target the hip hop community and the inner cities. RP has such a strong empowering message for them, and many would love his drug policies.

I wish I had a connection in that community. I think it's being ignored to a great extent. But there are probably a lot of people who have never voted before in that segment, but who would be motivated to register ASAP to vote RP if they knew his message.
