Now let’s consider the possibility that Huckabee doesn’t run, but Palin still does. Romney takes the slightest of leads in that instance with 20% to 19% for Palin, 18% for Gingrich, and 12% for Paul who moves up into double digits in that scenario. Those numbers aren’t that much different than when Huckabee is in the mix because his voters distribute their support pretty evenly if he’s out- 21% to Palin, 20% to Gingrich, 19% to Romney, and a surprisingly high 15% to Paul.

Yeah, now Huckabee will definitely run after seeing this poll. The Neo-Conservative establishment will do anything to keep the Paul family down.

The mass media promoted Huck to head off the rise of Ron Paul last time.

No offense, but you guys need to work on your reading comprehension. This clearly says that 15% of Huck voters would switch their vote to Ron Paul, and that Ron would be at 12% as a result. It is still good news, but the title of this thread most definitely needs to be changed.

This data shows that although RP is fourth in line in terms of receiving benefit from Huckster dropping out, his percentage of support among Hucksters vs national support is far greater than any other candidate. That means we should definitely start focusing our efforts on "Huck's Army" in preparation for him not announcing.

Lastly, the most exciting bit of information contained is that supporting Ron Paul is no longer binary. Thus, its about time we temper our attitude and expectations when dealing with non-supporters in order to get them on board. I'm not advocating changing our beliefs, just being a little more diplomatic in our pitch. A little more Rand and a little less Ron. Shit, we might actually win this thing.

"If" is the biggest two letter word in the dictionary, I hope Ron Paul runs and wins but I'm not banking on his stock rising due to Huckabee not running.

The mods around here have a bad habit of just retitling thread titles without making any note about it. It's very Stalinesque.

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, but this definitely appeared to be what happened last time around.

No, the media / establishment didn't like Huck. Fred's purpose was to block the other more conservative candidates from having a chance.

I'm the one who pointed out that your title was wrong, Agorism. I don't know who changed it, but how can you blame the mods. When there is incorrect information in the title it either should be changed or the thread should be shut down. Why would you want to continue to mislead people after a mistake has been found?

Huck really likes his job ($$$), so his running probably would have more to do with FOX firing him or not renewing his contract than anything else.

When I made the title I was reading the last line of this. If there is an error with regard to either 12% or 15% (who knows which one it is), it is PPP's error not mine.

It took me a few minutes to figure it out too. It's saying if Huck doesn't run Ron will have 12% of the vote. However, at the end it says, if Huck doesn't run, Huck's VOTES will be split 21% to palin, 20% to gingrich, 19% to romney, and 15% of huck's votes will go to Ron.....Ron's vote total will still be 12% though.
