The liberty movement is well known for its voluntarism. The movement has come so far because so many of us have the taken the time, energy and money and invested it freely to support the cause of liberty.

Very few people have done it with such dedication as JoshLowry, Reason Editors, Nystrom at DailyPaul, to counter the Media blackout on RP and liberty movement.

There were a few posts in the past which raised the question of how much money is enough or whether there is proper accountability when SiteAdmin is requesting $30,000.

I want to say this: Running a Site with such complexity is not easy or for the faint of heart. Nor JoshLowry seems to be a hermit in Bhutan or Tibet with nothing else but the site on his mind.

He has to feed his family, spend countless extra hours, burn the mid night oil, and then some. This is an enormously stressful Job. And it would still be well worth it if Freedom movement Spent

$50,000 (which is approximately the median income for family of 4) on 3 sites for a total of $150,000 a year.

On that count alone, $30,000 seems to be a fair amount.

Look at this: RonPaulForums is one of the top 10 Libertarian sites and in top 30,000 Global Rankings (26,531) to be precise.

Ron Paul following is atleast 1 Million strong based on 2008 primary voters. But this is not enough. Pat-Buchanan, a brother in Arms got 3 Million from 250 Million population, without the internet.

We have come so far, but the fight is getting a whole lot tougher. In order to win the primaries we will have to invest a lot more money on Internet presence than we did and have been doing till now.

If everyone of these 1 Million donated 10c each we would easily have $100,000 to run 3-4 good sites with huge visitor volume.

Donating 10$ is not difficult, even for a student. its the cost of one Lunch for one person.

$50 is the cost for one decent family lunch.

Remember Guys, we are fighting for freedom which is priceless. And we are competing against the entire marxist establishment of CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, NBC, PBS, FOX, NY Times, Wash. Post etc. who have more than $10-20 Billion in combined budgets.

With such odds we need 100 more RonPaulforums like presence and while we have 3-4 such sites, lets support them with all our power. We need to be in top 50 like HuffPost within US and within top 100-200 Globally.

Why the impatience? I donated $100 and once RP declares, this place will get flooded. The site has raised 72% of it's goal just with the die hards. PATIENCE!

Agreed - except about that $10 lunch notion.

Unless I eat out (very rarely) I would say a very nice meal only cost $3 - $4. But I live in Tennessee. Perhaps it's more expensive where you live.

In that case, the accounting is messed up....

still - I see no problem with fund raising.

That means 10 months total - pretty fatalistic. :(
