Yes, it's an old and stupid piece that assumes that people are incapable of organizing society through voluntary means and need an aggressive monopoly of force to save them from themselves.

Several years ago I wrote a rebuttal. I don't have it any more, but I googled a couple of phrases to see if I had posted it online. I hadn't, but I found this They made a couple of the same points I did, which made my conservative heart soar. I'm not batshit crazy after all.
