State owned company trying to evict Evangelical Christian because of his race

Just weeks after "Death to Jewish women who date Arabs" rally in Bat Yam ( LINK (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4002085,00.html) ) , a right-wing Christian evangelical is being asked by State-owned agency to vacate the property he is renting because he is not of the right race apparently. How will Palin and evangelicals supporters McCain, Hagee react to this?

In September, Sokolovsky received a letter from Silvy Nizri, the company's assets director, which stated: "The company has been informed that you are renting a property on 4 Gilad Street to a person who does not match the company's population criteria and in complete contradiction to the character of the Jewish Quarter. It is well-known that the Jewish Quarter is a quiet neighborhood with a unique character, and needs to be kept this way by the residents, in accordance with the lease agreement between the company and yourself. You are requested to evacuate the property and ensure it is only populated by persons matching the company's population criteria."

This isn't racism," Atias said. "I have no legal findings and we won't take any legal steps, but the neighbors can go to court if they want to. We approached the landlady following complaints from neighbors that he does not match criteria for living in the quarter, which are having an Israeli ID and being Jewish, not a gentile."

Link doesn't take us to the article but based on the letter written to Sokolovsky there is no mention of race being an issue. Religion (which also should not be an issue either but in that part of the world they don't mix well based on religions which is why they have troubles getting along) does seem to be in question.

So a secular person with jewish mother will not be able to c rent there? Usually term used to make case for land ownership there is "chosen race" or have you seen any argument based on "chosen religion"? Charlie Sheen is jewish because his blood connection to his mother and not because of his faith system.

This is ironic that a right winger evangelical could be evicted from this property because of who he is even after reports that big majority of evangelicals supported Iraq invasion.

Judaism is a religion- not a race. There are no physical charachteristics which could be used to distinguish somebody who is Jewish from somebody who is not. I don't know what the property laws in Jerusalem are, but in the US the man would have a pretty strong case to file a discrimination lawsuit.
