Paul: Federal Government has become "king"

The crowd gave Paul a standing ovation. In an interview afterward, one couple commented that there need to be more legislators like him. They also agree with Paul's philosophy that the country cannot survive on borrowed money.

Paul unsuccessfully ran for the Republican nomination in 2008, and says he is “50-50” on whether or not to run again. The only reason he is thinking about it is because people keep asking him about it, Paul told reporters.

His speech was filled with passion, peppered with an occasional outbreak of applause as he stressed the importance of family.

“Today, we are living in an age in which the family has been greatly diminished,” Paul said. “We're dependent on the king. We're dependent on the central government.”
