The comment section is freaking awesome!!:
The constitution has this phrase, "the pursuit of happiness". How can someone pursue happiness if they can't go to school or see a doctor. Ron Paul is a flaming idiot. The most valuable resource we have in this country are the people. If we don't invest in each other then we are doomed. Ron Paul, please go away and take that disgusting offspring of yours with you.

I read that earlier. Ron Paul is 100% right. And what those who bash him are failing to understand is the root cause of the problem as to WHY their education is so expensive...

Comment section is almost hilarious to read through. I certainly wouldn't cut education resources completely, but these people are delusional. Kind of like David "Give teachers $180,000" Letterman.
"We don't care if we have a deficit of $1.6 trillion, we need to spend MOAR on education!! (and clean energy, and health care, and mass transit, and....)!!!11"
I wonder if these people realize that we could raise tax brackets twice over and it still wouldn't cover the deficit.

Philosophically there isn't much difference between these dolts and Josef Stalin, who commandeered the Soviet economy in such a brutal way starting in 1928. They see us (individualists) as obstacles to their grand utopia. We're standing in the way of real progress. High speed rail, health care for all, population control. :) We're simply not enlightened enough to see the grand vision of the future.

People don't need a college level education to be a janitor or work at McDonald's. America has a lot of people wasting thousands of dollars on bachelors and even graduate level education. Most of the people I know who hold a masters are waiting tables because they can't find a job doing what they went to school for. What a waste and with the amount of loans they took out for their ivy league education they can't afford to pay it back so they default. Which of course makes the rest of us responsible.
Bachelors are the new high school diploma equivalent. Universities today are just teaching students stuff they should have already learned in high school, yet our government run schools are such utter crap that it rolls down hill to the colleges to take up the slack for the lack of real education. A once important degree---the associate--- are about the most worthless degrees in the world now and are just stepping stones towards the end goal of the bachelors all because most employers desire the high school equivalent for a lot of jobs.
That being said the average person doesn't need further than an 8th grade education anyhow.

Geesh...they focus on one part and not the whole picture of what he said. Big surprise!!! I am sick of the village owns our children mentality. It gives them entitlement to interfere with the parental relationship because they feel they have a vested interest. I want the state out of my family's life. They are destructive and their goals have no respect for the individual's needs but merely the concerns of the state's.

And in the meantime, govt bureaucrats from the department of education are working in collusion with hedgefunds to destroy private trade-based schools.
http://dailycaller.com/2011/03/03/coburn-education-department-tipping-hedge-funds-on-for-profit-colleges/
Coburn was referring to documents obtained by CREW that show collaboration between top Education Department officials and Wall Street short sellers hoping to profit from the demise of the for-profit college sector.
Critics of the schools say they trick unprepared students into enrolling with false promises of high wages from the jobs they’ll get after graduation.
Industry representatives say the charges are overblown and warn the regulations will decimate the sector, rather than reform it.
The regulation at issue is still being finalized at the Education Department.

A very successful Baltimore private school is about to close because the unions are forcing renegotiation on wages.... the teachers however are happy to be working with the children regardless of the 9 hour days... its the unions are forcing the issue... quite sad

Lots of those people will die in the coming crash. They will go to their deaths cursing the 'banksters' and demanding food and healthcare from any remnant of a state that is left. They will receive no answer.
