Daily Caller has a piece out: Ron Paul's take on Charlie Sheen

Even Rep. Ron Paul is aware of Charlie Sheen’s new gig as a walking PSA. Here’s what he told TheDC’s Chris Moody earlier today:

“Sometimes I think when there’s that much attention given to it there must be somebody just playing games.”

“Why does anybody care? The guy’s goofy, just leave him alone.”

“It seems like we’re running out of things to deal with. We have wars going on. We’re flat out broke, and we’re worried about this guy?”

“That does not seem to be a major event in my life.”
The good doctor remains focused on the task at hand!

While I won't sit here and say Charlie has all his marbles accounted for....

This is absolute bullshit, and I can't believe people are actually standing by the actions of this tyrranical state. Stealing people's freaking children???? Are you kidding me??!!!

Ya I saw that, I don't think he was reacting to his kids being taken, though.

If Charlie Sheen endorsed Ron Paul, would that be a good thing or a bad thing?

I wonder why they hound this man, there are worse basket cases in Hollywood that would make him look like a saint in comparison. Why the focus?

Because he's crazy, fucked up, drinks and does drugs but he shows up for work prepared, does his job well and makes his employer millions of dollars... and that goes against the collective narrative.

He isn't raising his children how the government wants him to. I doubt the kids were in any harm, they probably weren't starving or sleeping in trash. Unless Sheen threatened his kids with a knife I don't see any justification for this. Complete bullshit.

He says totally insane things on the air, is always in trouble, lives with his wife, kids (well did) and 2 - 24 yo GF's, is constantly involved with different porn stars and call girls, sees rehab as a revolving door and his alcohol and drug use makes Hunter S. Thompson seem like a lightweight. Total paparazzi magnet. What's not to like.

He might not be the best person to endorse Paul, considering his current baggage. Maybe if he got on thorazine for a while, or something...

Out of curiosity, who do you think is worse?

I think he is an enlightened cat, operating on a level that probably only 5% of the population can, just the way his lives, loves, and thinks. I have a thing for the underdog, and am totally pulling for this guy.

Late Tuesday, a California judge issued a stay-away order barring Sheen from coming closer than 100 yards to Mueller and their sons. In the order, a copy of which was posted on celebrity website TMZ.com, Mueller claims earlier this week Sheen told her "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom."

Right or wrong I'm pretty sure this would lead to most people losing their kids for a bit.

So what exactly is the difference between him and everyone else in Hollywood?

Edit: Ohh...just read BT's comment. and devil21s... hmmmm

What the media is doing to Charlie Sheen kind of disgusts me. It is obvious that he is losing his mind, and they're just making a big joke out of it. Not surprising in the least, but someone in his condition is just going to get worse under all that stress. They shouldn't be interviewing him on national TV, they should be trying to figure out what's going on in private.

Yep... But its not about Sheen, its about the reporters story, their importance, their ego, their money --- all the while a poor druggy/drunk wallows in crap.

Reporter 1: Ha ha look at that drunk, hey someone spit on him and see what he does...
Reporter 2: Hauauck.... (spit)
Reporter 1: OOOOOooooo....eeeeeeeee... good shot Ha Ha!
Reporter 2: Oh crap he's coming around... get it getit on tape...roll ROLL damnit Roll
Cameraman: I got it, I got IT!!!! YEAH! I got it. Man this is going prime time -- BIG FREAKIN' BONUS for ALL!
.....Hi fives all around.

Uh, his wife did it, not the government. She went to a lawyer and had it done. It's a he - said, she - said custody situation, I wish all of them could come to an agreement and live happily ever after. The End.

Sheen is nutty and hilarious. Ultimately I think he's a flipping idiot, though. Everyone likes to laugh at the idiot. I try not to pay much attention to celebrity gossip, and I think tabloids are a symptom of the intellectual depravity of modern America (the same intellectual depravity that has led us collectively toward political doom), but once in a while something gets so widely publicized that you end up getting exposed to it anyway. In Sheen's case, he was good for a laugh. Fire-breathing fists, indeed!
