It looks like some politicians are having a "fake fight" with the Fed to restrict it's purview to just "managing inflation" instead of job creation ha ha ha ha.

If you target inflation, the economy is allowed to sort itself out. Businesses like a stable rate of inflation- it makes planning for the future easier. If the future rate of inflation is unknown they will be less willing to make investments in future production. They hate uncertainty.

Neither, the Fed's tinkering just distorts the market and makes things worse.

I don't think it's a fake fight. I think narrowing its scope to fighting inflation only and removing concern for jobs from it would be a good thing.
