And most would advocate intervention/aid to Israel, especially if Israel was on the ropes. this is a difficult situation because the religion is also a country. I think Catholics would advocate intervention if Moslems were at the gates of Rome/the Vatican

Zionism was (and is) the movement to establish and preserve a Jewish homeland. It doesn't mean you support tax funded aid or the killing of Palestinians.

What do they want to do? I think one could surmise their desires for the Palestinian people (and all other Muslims) from their actions/propaganda over the last 60+ years. While our media has been quite censored, they've been rather forthcoming in that sense.
