What's the dirt on Tim Pawlenty?

He made a no tax pledge...he held to it pretty well for a while, but eventually made a "cigarette health fee" to raise more revenue.

We have Mark Dayton now, and he is a Democrat jackass. Overall I thought Pawlenty was a pretty decent Governor, and I miss having him here in Minnesota. He said he would veto a medical marijuana law, and he doesn't support equal rights for gays, so I had issues with him on the state level. When it gets to the national level it seems he talks with neo-con language. He wasn't a bad governor though, and I don't think there is a lot of dirt on him.

They all know how to Co-opt/hijack movements for their advancement. But it's basic Marketing and Sales, hitting the nerve of the people. Those emotional commercials are their catch you, and they do. This is like Huckabee v2.0. The music, that's Tony Scott inspirational movie soundtrack "Crimson Tide" type. Ah... strike that nerve of the viewers!

Here's some history: http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/archives/2010/11/29/more-corporations-hide-contributions-to-tim-pawlenty-behind-the-skirts-of-executives-wives/

More Corporations Hide Contributions to Tim Pawlenty Behind the Skirts of Executives’ Wives
posted 29th November 2010 in Economy (http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/category/economy/), Election 2012 (http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/category/election-2012/), Ethics (http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/category/ethics/), Politics (http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/category/politics/), Republicans (http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/category/republicans/) by Jim Cook

I reported yesterday on the Tim Pawlenty presidential campaign’s (http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/archives/2010/11/28/corporate-executives-pawn-off-tim-pawlenty-contributions/) repeated practice of taking monetary contributions from corporate executives and, on the same day, “reattributing” those contributions so they appear to be from “homemakers,” the “retired,” or people with no occupation reported at all. In actuality, these people are corporate executives’ wives. Thanks to the instant give-and-switch, the Pawlenty campaign can connect a contribution to a corporate executive while obscuring that source from automatic aggregators at transparency organizations like Open Secrets (http://www.opensecrets.org/usearch/index.php?q=upsher-smith+laboratories&searchButt.x=0&searchButt.y=0&searchButt=Submit&cx=010677907462955562473:nlldkv0jvam&cof=FORID:11).
In yesterday’s post, I listed just seven instances of this practice to serve as examples. To get an idea of the scale of the practice in the Pawlenty for President campaign, let’s proceed today to list them all:

$5000 from IWCO Direct CEO James Anderson, reattributed to Patricia Anderson, no profession
$5000 from Starkey Laboratories Founder William Austin, reattributed to Tani Austin, “homemaker”
$5000 from Creative Health Care Treasurer Ronald Baukol, reattributed to Gay Lynn Baukol, “retired”
$5000 from Family & Cosmetic Gentle Dentistry founder and President Robert Bodin, reattributed to Lynda Bodin, no profession
$5000 from partner at lobbying firm Barnes & Thornburg Patrick Brady, reattributed to Julie Brady, “homemaker”
$5000 from Managing Director of Madison Dearborn Partners Benjamin Chereskin, reattributed to Cynthia Chereskin, “homemaker”
$5000 from Cambria Chairman Mark Davis, reattributed to Mary Davis, no profession
$5000 from Upsher-Smith owner and CEO Ken Evenstad, reattributed to Grace Evenstad, “homemaker”
$5000 from Norwest Equity Partners Senior Advisor and Partner Jeffrey Greiner, reattributed to Theresa Greiner, “homemaker”
$5000 from Central Container Corporation CEO James Haglund, reattributed to Kathleen Haglund, “homemaker”
$5000 from Minneapolis Radiation Oncology founder and President Robert Haselow, reattributed to Justine Haselow, “retired”
$5000 from PVS Chemicals Inc. President James Nicholson, reattributed to Ann Nicholson, “homemaker”
$5000 from TCF Bank Counsel Gregory Pulles, reattributed to Michelle Pulles, “homemaker”
$5000 from Strategic Fundraising CEO Daniel Rice, reattributed to Christine Rice, “homemaker”
$5000 from Target Director Stephen Sanger, reattributed to Karen Sanger, “retired”
$5000 from Federated Insurance Company Executive Vice President Mark Scharmer, reattributed to Margaret Scharmer, “homemaker”
$5000 from Douglas Seaton, founder of Seaton Beck & Peters (labor litigators for corporate management: “the lawyers for employers”), reattributed to Hilory Seaton, “attorney”
$5000 from Securian Financial Group CEO Robert Senkler, reattributed to Pamela Senkler, “homemaker”
another $5000 from Securian Financial Group CEO Robert Senkler, also reattributed to Pamela Senkler, “homemaker”

These are always contributions of $5,000, they always come initially from corporate executives, and they are always being reattributed to the executives’ wives (all but one of whom list no occupation). Isn’t that curious?

He supported TARP bailout. He's pro-trillion dollar empire. Pro-war on drugs.

Basically he's a neocon that also supported the TARP bailout. He's a horrible candidate but he's trying to cash in on the tea party ticket, just like all these other politicians who have been here for decades and never once talked about small government or "tea party" anything - it took the supporters of Ron Paul to actually start the Tea Party in 2007.

Pawlenty is clearly positioning himself as an also-ran, hoping to get a VP slot on someone's ticket. He's not even that popular among conservatives here in MN.

Yes, Pawlenty wasn't that bad of a Republican governor for liberal Minnesota. Democrats hated him, if that says something. He kept the Democrats from raising taxes too badly.
Our new governor Dayton is a mentally challenged Marxist trust fund brat. Can't wait for the new Republican legislature to drive him totally insane.

Someone on Facebook gave me this:

Virtually indistinguishable from the rest of the gaggle of neocons. He pushed hard for socialized sports stadia (which he got and celebrated), for light rail when in the legislature; he raided the "rainy day" fund to balance the state budget, and has toured the middle east with the neocon express a couple of times.

Someone on Facebook gave me this:

Yeah, and he signed a bar/restaurant smoking ban too(though I think most people in the nation support this type of ban, even though most of us here support private property rights). I had forgot about the stadium... I hate state subsidized professional sports.

I don't think he was really a big supporter of TARP... remember, he was trying to get a VP slot with McCain, and was trying to support him at that time.

Also, the video reminds me of a grassroots made Ron Paul video... I bet the people that made it looked at some of our videos for inspiration.

Anyways, right now I'm not really anti-Pawlenty. He isn't a liberty candidate, but he isn't as much of an centralized-government nut as Romney or Huckabee. Lets see how he acts in the debates before we completely crucify him. If he is an asshole towards our guys and their ideas, then we can put him on the huge asshole list.
