View Full Version : More US Troop Deaths in Afghanistan in Obama’s Two Years Than in Bush’s Two Terms

575. That’s the number of the American soldiers that died in the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan between 2001 and 2009 under George W. Bush. The same ongoing occupation, which has been escalated by President Barack Obama, has resulted in over 854 more American soldiers being senselessly killed since early 2009, when Obama took over the Presidency. As early as August of 2010, the number of American soldiers, who had died in Afghanistan under Barack Obama, surpassed the number of troops that died under George W. Bush’s authority. Think about it: In less than two years, Obama’s actions have resulted in the deaths of more Americans in Afghanistan than in eight years of Bush’s Presidency.

Bush’s actions in two terms as President earned him the rightly due title of “War Criminal” from progressives and liberals, but what have Obama’s actions earned him from the left-wing of American politics? Absolutely no criticism, until recently that is. After a Gallup Poll revealed, on February 2nd, that 72% of Americans want the government to “speed up the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan,” the Democratic National Committee (DNC) passed a resolution, on February 26th, encouraging Obama to start to transition troops out of Afghanistan. The resolution was an apparent attempt at regaining the votes of the disillusioned anti-war left in the 2012 Presidential election.

This is how we convince liberals and progressives to vote for Ron Paul instead of a mass murdering sociopath.

The YAL chapter at OSU made a whole series of posters with similar facts. They got quite the reaction on campus.

Edit: Here's a zip file of the posters if anyone wants them, http://yalosu.com/Obama.zip

Maybe the neocons, excited by this news, will start considering heading back on over to the Democratic Party.

Within 2 days, I would say over half of the posters (500 went up the first day) had been ripped down (not by maintenance but in anger with pieces still up), defaced, or had comments on them.

They're continuing it this week even bigger, including chalking on walkways, and maybe facebook ads. They are trying to get some press too.

Today the House Foreign Relations Committee met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a dog and pony show of what the resultant is: More Money for Overseas operations.

Representative Bergman (D-CA) stated that we must remain in all countries, fund wars, security, and control, or the Chinese will takeover. There was quite a bit of incitement for the cameras... of course Hillary was reciprocating the need for more spending and patronizing State Department and DOD government workers.

Foreign policies are NOT going to change, except for those paying taxes... more .GOV spending and a lower standard of living for the American people.

That troop surge sure worked, didn't it Mr. President! More unrest in the Middle East and more US soldiers kill. It is long over due to bring our troops home!

I was just reading The Irrepressible Rothbard; he speaks of this nomadic phenomenon in the Clinton vs. Bush election. He was right , it all repeats itself in many ways.

But why??

They think that a few dead so-called "militants" are worth the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians.

Hardly IMO.

Its mostly got to do with the false perception that the propaganda has built up that Obama is friendly towards Muslim countries.

Hardly IMO.

Do you talk to Pakistanis in America on a regular basis? Are you a member of any Pakistani-American organizations? Their sentiments are very clear. They support the drone strikes because they believe its helping to eradicate "terror". If I point out that terror strikes in Pakistan, have increased, they say that means Obama needs to do more drone strikes and some even support American ground troops invading the eastern part of Pakistan.

At first they thought Obama would end the drone strikes, but when I point out that he hasn't they do a complete 180 on their position and say Obama is doing what needs to be done for the "betterment of Pakistan". They also think Pakistanis in Pakistan are stupid for opposing drone strikes.

Yes that has something to do with it also, but Pakistanis in America support Obama even more when they hear that the Pakistanis back home oppose him due to his administration's policies.

Thanks for reiterating my point.

The point being that Obama's policy towards Pakistan doesn't influence the Pakistani-American community (as you yourself state, they support him whether his bombs in Pakistan have a "good" effect or not) as much as the perception of him being a "friend" of Pakistan and other Muslim nations.

The sad thing is that all of these dead troops took an oath to defend article 2 section 1 of the Constitution....if they had kept their promises instead of allowing the constitution to be trashed they would be alive today.

The rules are clear...An immigrant whose home country is Kenya has no constitutional authority to be ordering any troop to go to war...only a natural born citizen president can do so. All troops who got killed since Jan. 20, 2009 should have given Obama the finger when asked to deploy and they would be alive today.

and if anyone here doubts Kenya is Obama's home country, here's his wife Michelle admitting that.

Unfortunately, this country has been operating illegally for decades. For example, firearm laws are unconstitutional... and the 14th Amendment forces the state's to comply with the BOR—therefore, state laws against firearms are also illegal.

I think the impact will be lost because obama's only been in office for 2 years, and obamabots are going to apples for apples. Not what apple x 4 apples would be like.

One that would be good is number of limbs lost. Due to body armor, more are living but this other number has to be HUGE! The DoD is doing mega damage control by putting out ads about how great life is without a leg. Playing baseball, etc.
