He is a diabetic and earlier this year (when he was gone for several weeks), he was really, really sick. That's when he lost so much weight. At least, that's what he said when he returned.

Didn't know that. I don't always agree with Matthews but i enjoy his show. pretty much all other "political" shows are crap.
