Very good article, thanks. Well worth reading.

I would argue that the reason Rand is more assertive than Rubio is because Rand has more principle, conviction and knowledge about economics and philosophy. He has more to offer and explain to the people, and is using his time as Senator to get the message out and to take a bold stand for what is right.

As for Rubio, as the article suggets, I think he is planning for something else. One could say he is being "groomed" for something else. The Republican party, being the shallow institution that all political parties are, bases elections on factors such as demographics. What the GOP sees in Rubio is the first Hispanic president and they want it to be a Republican. Rubio fits the bill perfectly. Attractive, charismatic, of a "minority race". They see Rubio as the conservative Obama.

Remember Rubio's chief of staff is Cesar Conda.

Yes the same guy that sent out this e-mail to Republican insiders (Cheney, Bill Kristol, Robert Kagan etc.) in March, to get them involved in the race:

“On foreign policy, [global war on terror], Gitmo, Afghanistan, Rand Paul is NOT one of us”- Cesar Conda

Rand is going to motivate the American people to give ultimatums to their corrupt old boy network Senators. In the meantime (which may be indeed short) the other worms will kiss ass and be meek. How pathetic that Ron Johnson ran for, and won, a senate seat on behalf of the people of Wisconsin yet says he has "nothing valuable to say."
