Just stumbled on this, does anyone know reasons behind this. Not much detail given here.

It suggested that certain songs were "inappropriate" for radio airplay, in light of the attacks, including all songs by Rage Against the Machine

Amie Allen said that the CIA called her record label and told them not to release her album unless she took all the "revolution" rhetoric out of it.

That's what happens when you get such huge companies with a bunch of people that do nothing but twittle their thumbs all day, every day..... they have to create their work from scratch.

I give a shout out to the living dead

So serene on the screen

I remember a local rock station talking about this list a few days after the attacks and started naming which songs, that were in their usual lineup, would not be played unti further notice. They explained that it was because the songs listed could have upset people in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, caused them to retaliate against Muslims, have reminded them of war, talked about NYC somewhere in the song or talked about death. They also plainly said that they would not be playing songs that were critical of the government or of war.

If I were on that list I would have sued the shit out of the government.

It wasn't the government behind it though, mainly just a media conglomerate.

That song would probably condemned by Egyptian groups today as racist. I miss the 80's before political correctness.

How old is that album? Before waxing and shaving became the norm I guess.
