Space exploration is one of the few functions of government both Ron Paul and myself see as a legitimate function of government. Although I am sure both him and I would agree that any commercial space ventures should also be allowed just as much.

Darn, I saw it in a video that I don't remember. Hold on, it might take a moment to find it.

Edit: I'm not sure if I'll be able to find it... there are so many RP videos... but I swear I heard him say it would be one of the legitimate functions for defense purposes. The video I am remembering wasn't specifically about space exploration either, which makes it much harder to find... it was just a question in the interview.
