God please strike so you can be fired and replaced. I swear just quit you dirt bags. It's obvious you only care about looting the pubic coffers, maybe the public will have a chance at getting decent human beings if you guys are removed.

I swear we would be better off it these losers would just go away. No one can afford your insane benefit packages you idiots.

I would love someone to ask them how they expect to have jobs, let alone cushy pensions and healthcare, if there is no private sector from which to pilfer tax revenue? And, why should government employees have collective bargaining? How can you 'bargain' on tax revenue?

For some, it's their complete lack of understanding that working for the govt = TAXPAYERS fund your salary. They literally think "the government" pays them, I've come across a LOT of this idiocy both in the military and the cush govt jobs that they go to after their "service".

EDIT- And yeah-go for it, morons. Show the world what you're really about.

Looks like a possible opportunity for private schools to increase enrollment and for entrepreneurs to start a new business in education

There should be a huge homeschool or charter school counter protest going on. Don't let these thugs educate your children. They get more and more money and what do the parents get? Lower and lower test scores. People need to realize that education in country is a joke. I would love to see these people lose their jobs because parents just start pulling their kids out. What's the point they have to stay home with them anyways since they're not being educated at school right now. Perfect time to start teaching them themselves.

Call that bluff, just wait until people realize the majority of them are unneeded.

I'm always skeptical. I think some sort of negotiation will occur, while it is my hope that the governor stands firm.

And a week later people will realize how little they are needed in the scheme of things. That would be suicide.

This is just beyond sad. This is the foundation of all our problems, actually. The majority of people no longer care about logic, and facts; only emotions. It's a complete lack of understanding of how the most basic things function. Government is like a magical box to them. They can't connect the dots as to where the money comes from. It's a mental defect, really, and they are the majority. It's quite scary.

PATCO repeats?

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5604656

on Aug. 3, 1981, more than 12,000 members of the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization walked off the job, setting off a chain of events that would redefine labor relations in America. In response to the walkout, President Ronald Reagan issued one of the defining statements of his presidency. He said the striking air-traffic controllers were in violation of the law; if they did not report to work within 48 hours, their jobs would be terminated.
Reagan carried out his threat.

History repeats... unfortunately, the 10 planks president won't have the balls to honor the US Constitution. Of Course the Hypocritical Liberals don't think the "General Welfare Cause" applies to children's education/daily welfare. Another example of Big Union and Socialist hypocrisy.

You think this will go off peacefully, or do you think bullets will start flying or do you care either way?...

Their socialists. Guns are bad, remember? Besides, they probably turned them in for a $50 gift certificate to WalMarx.

I thought about this when similar events happened in California. It was a perfect opportunity to educate teachers on how they have an opportunity to band together and start their own private schools. People will get behind their right to form private schools, but they won't get behind their "right" to raise the tax burden.

Wasn't the PATCO decision by Reagan bolstered by using the 'National Security' card?...seems to me i remember that being brought up.
