So I'm one of these people that unfortunately usually focuses 99% of my attention on federal issues rather than the state & local ones. What makes me particularly guilty is that I'm aware of the insanity of such practice. State & Local issues arguably have a greater impact on individuals and perhaps more important is the greater impact your voice has on the lower levels.

My state like many of yours is in secession. ( Dark times indeed )
What I'm doing and I suggest many of you do is to attend the committee meetings.
In my state these committees are usually less than 10 people. After the bill is introduced and usually a very brief Q/A session members of the public are allowed to speak. This is when you can step up and share some liberty minded ideas.

I'm taking it a step further. A state Representative was generous enough to let me shadow him. I'm helping him out by summarizing the committees that he can't attend. But the great benefit is adding in my personal input at the end.

In my opinion someone speaking at these committee meetings is worth >10 phone calls.

Other benefits are seeing who actually crushes bills in committee.

Here are some examples of some bills for my state this session.
Exempt individual mandate ( failed )
Open Carry ( failed )
Require IT professionals to report child pornography
Subsidies for businesses
Many tax cuts
Balanced Budget bill
Require Insurance companies to cover morbid obesity
Many More

Good one. You are so right!. The game they want us to play is the Federal game which they know we can't win now. But we can do is insert liberty into the local action.

I'll take your advice.
