While this is tragic, the comments are moreso. Police state Amerikka, here we come. Knee-jerk reaction-ism at it's finest.
Some cherry-picked gems(it's Honesty Tuesday for me):

First off, my sincere condolences to the family/friends of Officer Crawford. Truly a tragedy that another one of our law enforcement officials has been killed in cold blood. I am concerned about how easy it must be to get a gun. I know the argument has always been that criminals will get them anyway but I just don't know about that. Who I'd really like to hear from is some of our women and men in blue and what they think about public gun ownership. I would love it if the SPT could give us a story with their perspective, thoughts and feelings on this matter so I, for one, could gain some clarity.
:confused::eek:
Officers, it is turning very dangerous out on our streets. We need to keep your pensions untouched and get more advanced crime fighting technologies into your hands. For the love of God, keep a professional mentality, step up your awareness of security and safety precautions, and let's bring this criminal to justice. May the Angels watch over you, like you do over us. Stay safe.

Again, too often, thoughts go out to the officer's family. Decent CIVILIZED people are very sorry for your loss. The national war on LEOs must be stopped.

Excellent post. I would also add that there are young men and women overseas making poverty level wages fighting for their country so Mr. Limbaugh and others can run their mouths for a thousand bucks a minute.
The only response(I'll admit, I only made it through the first page) that made me smile somewhat though:

Tell your governor how much you support cutting the pension benefits of the police and prosecutors who now have to clean up this mess for him.

Are you suggesting doubling the pensions will stop officer killings?
:D
I'm a little worried about the mentality on this already, local paper editorials are in hysteria as well. I'm gonna go start injecting some reality over in the local papers comments section. I've actually avoided traveling anywhere quite a bit because I am always armed, and these guys are out for blood right now. In the link, it even says that they
The city is still coping with the shooting deaths of Officers Jeffrey A. Yaslowitz and Thomas Baitinger, who were killed Jan. 24 in a confrontation with an armed suspect in an attic. Police laid siege to Hydra Lacy's home at 3734 28th Ave. S with armored vehicles and nearly destroyed it until his body found was found hours later.
There's some "justice" for ya, and the sheep are beggin for more.:mad:
