The Wisconsin workers who have staged a week-long protest against their union-busting governor are getting some Big Apple reinforcements.

Teamsters Local 237, which represents various city workers, intends to "bus a couple hundred" members to Madison - possibly this week, Deputy Director Pete Gutierrez told The Daily News.

"This governor has awakened a sleeping giant," Gutierrez said of Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican. "We're going to bring down as many people as possible. It's an important issue and legitimate cause."

On Thursday, Wisconsin Senate Democrats tucked tail and ran like a pack of scalded dogs from the state Capitol, refusing to do the job they were elected to do.

Friday morning, TMJ reported that Governor Scott Walker sent state troopers out in an attempt to round up at least one Democrat so the Senate can vote on the Governor's budget repair bill.

So where do we stand on this issue? The way I see it is: Collective bargaining is certainly a right, but obviously a government job is different. Besides, when your employer is broke, there can be no bargaining. But then why did Walker try to outlaw collective bargaining? I guess I’m not really up on the issue enough. I’m guessing it’s all related to the fact that it’s a government job. If it were a bankrupt private company, there would be no issue, right?

Put on your brass knuckles and fight back, Governor Walker.

If anything, I think the private sector workers who've never had 'collective bargaining' 'rights' are the most pissed off right now. It sucks they have to work and can't protest these tax-feeders.

Um you have a right to freely associate. This means that government can't make you talk to others against your will. However collective bargaining is not a right. If you consider it a right that a bunch of people can force someone else to talk to them then there is no right to free association.

For example if I was a teacher I would not want my wage to be determined by other workers. I want my wage determined by me and my employer.
