Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley (D), called out New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie again Saturday during a speech at a Democratic fundraising dinner, saying the "tea partying" governor lives "in a different world than ours."

O'Malley, the chairman of the Democratic Governor's Association, accused Christie and other GOP governors across the country of irresponsibly slashing funding for priorities like education and infrastructure.

"The tea partying Republican governors would have us believe a lot of things that just aren't so," said O'Malley. "They would have us believe that we can somehow eat cake and lose weight. They would have us believe that we can just cut our way to a better future -- no need to invest in education or rebuild our infrastructure."

Maybe overpaid school administrators can invest in education with their ridiculous salaries. Heck, maybe they can fire themselves, which will result in further investment.

Is he saying only the Government can 'invest'? What the hell do they invest with? Surely the Government has no money of its own, produces nothing of its own, and sells nothing of its own. Everything the Government is or ever has, has begotten by theft. So, this entity with which it has no money, no capital, and no competition is the sole prescription for the growth of the economy? Individuals whom choose what they value, where to invest, and learn what is economically sustainable and wanted through profit and loss cannot ever hope to invest in such thing as 'infrastructure' & 'education'? I want nothing to do with these fools. They are the men wielding the hammers of destruction towards society and civilization. Let them have their socialist and communistic societies -- I resist.

And how's his budget doing?

Maryland State budget hole deepens
Analysts anticipate $1.6 billion deficit, up from September projection

Maryland State Budget for FY 2012

The state will face a roughly $1.6 billion gap between expected revenues and planned spending. The state faces cumulative annual budget gaps of more than $7.2 billion over the next four years

http://sunshinereview.org/index.php/Maryland_state_budget

His latest budget pretends to close the $1.6 billion deficit. Ig freezes K-12 funding, slightly raises college tuition, proposes no tax increases or state furloughs and somehow musters up health coverage for over 900,000 low-income children and adults. But there are hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue that aren't explained! Also, he received an extra billion in stimulus money last year which he isn't getting this year, yet he raised total spending!

Maryland is a very high tax state. I still don't get why working people live there. I guess the safe parts of DC are too expensive.

I know nearly nothing about Maryland, and pretty much all I know is from The Wire.

DC is higher taxed than Maryland.

I just moved 15 miles north of the boarder to PA. Taxes was one reason.

Vocabulary Study Guide:
government investment = spending taxpayers money

Common Sense Budgeting 101:
No investing your income until debts are paid off.

Who's living in the fantasy world, Mr. Governor? Unlike your world where people are morons and don't understand what you mean by "investment" nor do they understand debt / budgeting. Keep feeding the machine...

Some complaint about government employees who should have remained residents of their respective states, not being allowed to represent themselves in the policy making organization that employs them.

saying the "tea partying" governor lives "in a different world than ours"

Is that the world where endless debt without ever paying it back or losing your credit status because of it, is possible?

Ignore O'Malley he is looking to run for pres after Obama is done. He is biggest snobbiest bastard I've ever seen that truly has such contempt for the people. He plays the game well though.
