Great appearance by Dr P on Stossels show tonight. He talked about his 10% opt out proposal and how it might work. At one point he somewhat chastised an audience member who questioned how he was supposed to go to college without government assistance. Great segment. Stossel is a huge asset to the liberty movement.

I didn't like his response to that student. Instead of saying, "well I went to school without government assistance!" he should have explained why tuition is rising, and how prices would be much cheaper without government involvement. But otherwise, yeah, nice.

I agree that something on rising tuition due to government subsidized loans would have been nice. I did like how he gave a personal example and pointed out how sad it is when government creates dependence in people.

I'm surprised he didn't touch on the fact that the government subsidized student loans have the effect of pushing up the cost of education...leading to more demand for government subsidized loans leading to higher education costs leading to more demand for...and so on...
