A WOMAN'S WORLD
Paul the 'kook'
By Izzy Lyman
This past weekend, Republican “kook” Ron Paul won the CPAC presidential straw poll with 30 percent of the vote.

Mitt Romney came in second with 23 percent.

This is the second year in a row that the Republican congressman from Texas has been the decisive winner at the Conservative Political Action Conference’s annual gathering.

How does he do it?

The “kook” is too old to be a hunk, a stud muffin, or a boy toy.

The “kook” is no attractive, eyeglass-wearing female from an exotic state.

The fashion statement of the ‘kook’ veers toward frumpy, not snazzy.

The “kook” is no smooth operator, captain of industry, dotcom billionaire, or celebrity pundit.

The “kook” has been pilloried as “al-Qaeda’s favorite member of Congress” by a fellow Republican.

Donald Trump, who appeared at CPAC, dissed the “kook,” poo-poohing his chances at winning the presidency.

So how does Dr. Paul remain so … well, so hot?

His hotness, if you will, was on full display this past weekend at CPAC in Washington, where he delivered a twenty-minute speech cheerfully railing against U.S. taxpayers’ money being poured into foreign governments, the Federal Reserve, the Patriot Act, U.S. military presence in Germany and Japan, budget deficits, the devaluation of the dollar, and bipartisanship, while championing civil and economic liberties.

More and more we seem to be getting positive press. Even the negative press usually has soom positive stuff usually mixed in now a days. Liberty is like a disease. When it first catches on it is an annoying little bug for the established order, but eventually it takes over the whole body and the former established order of things is no longer able to function. The only difference is that in this case the disease is a blessing, not a curse.

How are they going to badmouth us when we have all the credibility, momentum and interest? Even the people at Fox News will say 'he brought up the legitimate issue of the Federal Reserve' while badmouthing us these days. Truth is they downplayed our movement in the 2008 campaign and now that we have really supernova'd with the tea party (which we shouldn't discount as they are with us on a vast majority of issues and against the two parties of government), they can't stop us. If they badmouth Ron Paul, they will get an angry hoard of his supporters e-mailing him with well-reasoned attacks against them. Do they really want that? Of course not. They know supporting the good doctor is good for business now and since they are slaves for the fiat notes, they will accord.
