If Ron Paul wants to run for office of President of the Unites States of America, isn't it time for him to make a trip like everyone else?

Oy Vey! Pataki the latest to visit Israel

By JUANA SUMMERS | 2/17/11

George Pataki is the latest GOP hopeful to add a stop in Israel to his would-be presidential resume.

The former New York governor will travel to the Holy Land next week as part of Landmark Ventures' Israel Dealmakers Summit, and will speak on global business trends and energy technology.

All right, joking aside, this is the serious news that hopefully Pataki will do something about during his trip:

He could come to Canada and make it clear that if he were president we would be free of DEA intrusion onto our soil to arrest patriots like Marc Emery and that he'd free Marc. Get the USA submarine base out of Nanoose Bay, BC. Show our GWBush wanna-be Stephen Harper what it means to truly be fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

In turn we'd do our best to get Ron elected so we could eliminate all this stupid drug/prison/border hassle stuff, the stuff that shouldn't happen between neighbours. He should do a quick tour of our universities, have a holiday, take in a hockey game or two.

Given a few weeks notice I am positive that I and other "Canadians For Ron Paul" could arrange for the trip to be covered by media and that there were well publicized, organized receptions from polite, well meaning activists of all ages, races, wealth, etc - and that is without trying - arrange for hockey tickets. Have him come to BC, we're having some "primaries" of our own right now - a contest between organized crime and corruption (Liberals) and organized complicity and ineffectiveness (NDP). We'd make him feel right at home.

Canada is all right :) I know few Canadians who are big supporters of Ron's ideas.

But this current political establishment situation in America is pathetic. No wonder we are today where we are.

Well if he legalized drugs, there'd be a huge market for BC bud, which I'm sure whoever succeeds Campbell will be thrilled about being able to tax! (hopefully not the NDP!!!) This is assuming of course that Canada legalizes too, but that's bound to happen anyway, and a President Paul south of the border would just speed things up.

But the Constitution also says you may skip the reading part but a trip to holy land is mandatory.

do you think if rp goes to israel his pres resume will be improved?

I respect the soverign right of Israel to exist and do it's own thing (the debates about it's modern foundation aside). But I have just HAD it with our politicians worshiping this country. With our Christians worshiping this country. With our churches pushing them as "God's People" when they are far far from it now.

I've had it from a secular standpoint, and I've had it from a religious standpoint.

I'm sick of it too. I don't understand the Evangelical Protestant view that Jews are "God's chosen people". It makes absolutely no sense to me. God doesn't "choose" a people, it's up to an individual to choose to accept Christ as their Savior...

This Israel worship really makes me sick, especially considering it's the prime reason we're the world's policeman and why people hate us and want to destroy us (not just the US, but the West in general). I know that if RP went to Israel, his chances of being president would increase, but I'd see him as selling his soul out.

This is odd, she stands closer to the wall than last "homeland security" chief Chertoff stood.

Is she the one who instituted enhanced nudity scanners and private body parts groping for Americans at airports.

God blesses those who stand closer to the wailing wall.

I always thought the "chosen people" thing was strange too, especially coming from Christians. The rite of communion itself is symbolic of the New Covenant.

He should go. He needs to sit with Netanyahu and Abbas and say "Listen, I'd like to be friends with both of you, but my country has its own problems. I'd make it a point not to send either of you any money. You need to work things out on your own."

But you know that all he is going to do is sit with Netanyshu and stand next to the wall for a photo shoot. All he is going to do is kiss ass like all the other GOP fakes heading there.

I don't think Ron would go unless some non-state entity footed the bill. He won't go on state dept. junkets and the only other country I think he went to was Croatia (??) to speak at a conference on free markets or something. I'm not sure, but I think a local Austrian group paid his and Carol's way to that one. If he doesn't want to use our taxpayer money, it's pretty much a given that he wouldn't want to spend another country's taxpayer money to travel.
