Standard AT trashtalk. Thought this hyperbole was noteworthy,

Congressman Paul's -- and the libertarians infecting the conservative movement -- loyalty to the ideals of Murray Rothbard also violate the idea contained in The Sharon Statement of maintaining the internal order. Rothbard criticized the police crackdowns during the riots of the late 1960s, when angry radicals burned entire sections of major American cities to the ground. Rothbard reveled in anarchy.

Yet another reason why libertarians belong in the Libertarian Party, not the "conservative" (whatever that means) Republican Party.

I really hope libertarians can join the LP in large numbers, transform it into a legitimate political party and turn the Republican Party into a third party. Maybe eyes will open and old myths will evaporate in the next few years.

The Libertarian Party could a crushing 7% in the election cycle if that happens.

you might want to try to convince Ron Paul to start running under the libertarian party ticket again before trying to convince his supporters.

A crushing 20 some-odd Republicans voted against extending the Patriot Act, while 240+ Republicans cheerfully voted to extend it. So long as that record of legislative failure continues, there will be libertarians who will avoid the GOP like the plague. Will the LP win many elections? No. Will the GOP repeal anything related to the American Empire, the welfare state, or the Orwellian surveillance society? No. The Republican record of total legislative failure trumps, by far, the electoral failures of the LP.

Thankfully Ron Paul and Rand Paul doesn't think that way.

We have Neoconservatism now though not conservatism.

Conservatism is more like Ron Paul.

Hey, I temporarily switched parties to the GOP to vote for Paul in the NY 2008 primary (then switched back). There is a utility in using either major party as leverage for mainstream access, so long as we don't confuse those parties with being a solution. The point is Ron, Rand, and genuine Tea Party people in office will always hold minority status in the Republican Party. Their accomplishments will be IN SPITE of that party, instead of with its help.
