I find it interesting that Romney, Palin, and upcHuckabee all polled significantly with the very liberal crowd, and Paul got nothing from them.
The poll was geared toward Republicans, the liberal Republicans are the ones keeping him down, he obviously will never appeal to them, and I'm not sure what can be done about it.

We let the liberal (pro-war/big government) Republicans know that they have a home in the democrat party.

I've seen crosstabs of polls that show self-identified liberal-republicans are ron's biggest supporters! It's weird because nearly every poll shows different groups supporting Ron. I'm not sure what to make of it.

That is how it started in KY with Rand. We need to build on that. What sort of organization do we have in TN?

Ron Paul delivers cute babies.

Ron Paul was in the military.

Ron Paul is a Christian.

We need "simple" handouts and fliers. Then have "complex" ones. Can't just campaign to the political crowd.

Ron always does more poorly with (1) women and (2) older voters.

Ways to appeal to women in the GOP primary: (A) military service, (B) pro-life, (C) family man married to the same woman for 51 years with tons of grandkids, (D) give them all a copy of Carol's cookbook?

Ways to appeal to older voters in the GOP primary: (A) emphasize that promised entitlements will be delivered, (B) family man married to the same woman for 51 years with tons of grandkids, (C) talk about the "good old days"? (D) give them all a copy of Carol's cookbook?

We need to focus on women in the coming months.

Those commercials that Rand did of him saving a babies eye sight, we need those for Ron.

I wonder if there are any people out there now, that as babies were delivered by Ron Paul through a difficult birth, or something similar.

"He delivered me through tough times, just like he will deliver our country through the tough times we face today."

oh yea, matt good point. republican primary voters do tend to be baby boomers. I wonder how well we do with under 30 year old men in TN?

So? We all need to make sacrifices if we want to win. Lay the charm on thick! Bake them some cookies!

Ron Paul has the credentials as a candidate to appeal to women and senior voters. It's up to his advisors to direct the campaign narrative so that appeals to them, whether it be through advertisements or talking points in debates and interviews. If they fail in that regard, the grassroots can step up and fill the void.

Ron really needs to stop saying the word "empire". If he spoke more like Rand Paul he could win.

I just don't think a lot of women even know who Ron Paul is. Or men, for that matter, but especially women.

According to PPP, 67% of Republican primary voters have an opinion on Ron. 30% view him favorably, while 37% view him unfavorably.

No. We're not going to genuinely win unless we convince people that that terminology is appropriate. If he gets elected on moderate language and implements radical policy, the guy after him will just change everything back.

I have a fellow mail carrier who is very good at delivering his male to the women on his route, maybe I should send him down to Tennessee. I know that the redheaded population in our city increased after he started. Do women from Tennessee like muscular redheads?

In all seriousness, this is basically it. Some people vote on principles and premises, others vote on 'personality' and 'intangibles'. The first group are RP's natural constituency - people need to accept that we also have to appeal to the second group however we can.

How you can't sell a military vet and a baby doctor/surgeon who saved the lives of countless women to female and older voters is beyond me. This is our failure to communicate.

or it could be that most voters... female ones slightly more than male ones... tend to want their government...

Not sure if you were serious or not but I was joking. Although, I'm sure if I gave him a couple hundred bucks he'd go down there and deliver his package to the ladies of Tennessee. In a matter of a week or two, it'll be 100% of the women of Tennessee supporting Ron Paul, I guarantee it. Another little tidbit for the ladies of Tenn, mailmen like to relate women to stamps, they like to lick it before they stick it.

Guys, we've gotta do something about this woman problem! Hoping it will change will do nothing. Without a significant amount of women on board, our movement is severely crippled.
