He's also an old school Ron Paul donor, as he has maxed to Ron in past elections. Alan Brown's middle name is liberty!

Please join this group and help us send a shockwave to the establishment, as we primary Brett Guthrie (R)--the Patriot Act supporter.

From his post history, I can tell he's economically conservative (at least) and opposes the PATRIOT Act.

According to Alan's post on this forums he sent this to our current Congressman:

Earlier this week an attempt to extend certain provisions of the ill-named "PATRIOT" Act failed in the House (requiring a 2/3 vote.) This act was actually rather unpatriotic in the sense that it unconstitutionally removed the protections of the fourth amendment which our founders fought for to keep the citizenry free of search and seizure without probable cause or due process. Constitutionalists and conservatives are rising against this measure (probably why it failed unexpectedly) and most comments I've seen discussing this online do not think that we can truly help security by trading away our God-given rights, as protecting these is what made America great.

Our new Senator, Rand Paul, agrees with this position, and has actually made one of the most concise and eloquent arguments against renewing these provisions in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSDBswx90Cs Rep. Guthrie may appreciate this since I understand they are friends.

I regret not contacting you before the vote took place, since I read to my distress that Rep. Guthrie voted for this extension. Please pass along my strong urging that he defend the Constitution and vote no when they try to pass it next time by a simple majority, which could happen as early as tomorrow.

He's one of us [Ron Paul supporter to the core]! Assuming we're able to draft him, we'll work with him on putting out positions. I first meet ABJ at the Rally For The Republic; he's the real deal, as he is truly a grass roots candidate.

He doesn't know he's running yet, either--hahahaha!

This question needs answered. We should learn from our failed congressional bids in 2010. Alan is a great guy, but he is more likely to win in a state house or senate race.

No one really thought Rand Paul would win when it started, but thanks to a lot of help he did. Alan Brown's seat's area is 1/6 of the state, a much easier area to focus on, instead of the whole state.

Whether he wins or not isn't really the issue, but if I didn't think he had a chance, I wouldn't push him. For many of us the issue is having someone we trust to get behind and do some work.

Alan has as much of a chance to win this seat as the others mentioned, in my eyes. Guthrie is just a Mitch McConnell puppet, and many of us are tired of it.

Alan has just as much of a chance to win this seat, as Ron has a chance to win the pres. race, imo.

One other point: Kentucky wont have a roll in the Pres. primary, so we have a lot of grass root activists with no one to get behind. KY primary is in May, and the nomination for pres is over by then.

GOPers need to understand they will pay a price for their votes and that safe seats can become political graveyards

Alan is probably one of the hardest working grassroots supporters I've met. I worked with him many times during Rand's campaign, and to be honest, I don't think there was a time that he wasn't there. He is a tireless defender of the Constitution and a fitting young man to continue in Ron's footsteps. I look forward to getting out there for him in 2012! He would make an outstanding Representative.

We also really need a true challenger here in Louisville for the 3rd District. There are plenty of people who would be good for the job, and I am hoping one will step up (almost considering going for it myself despite it probably being an exercise in futility if the field is as bad as it was last year). Year after year, the Republican party puts up neocon after neocon and John Yarmuth sneaks by again. We need someone who will expose John as the enemy to the people he is, not another spineless establishment Republican.
