I may be mistaken, not fully versed on all formal senate/house procedures, but I think they are voting on the House passed bill right now on C-Span 2. There are alot of Aye votes being recorded.

PATRIOT Act Reauthorization passes the Senate 86-12. Only two Republicans (Rand Paul and Mike Lee) voted no.

Good luck filibustering that. They would override it in 2 seconds.

Why didn't he filibuster it?

12 is not enough. 40 are needed.

Hey I have zero idea how it works. I made an assumption and apparently was wrong.

Maybe we should put together a kinda cheat sheet on how both houses of Congress works. Im still trying to pick up the mechanics and am interested in all the procedural possibilities like the one they used to skip debate on a bill or bring a vote to the floor even though they are in the minority.

I never want to hear another RPF member tout DeMint as an ally. Ever again.

There are make or break issues in our movement.

This is one.

You're in, or you're out. DeMint is OUT.

This vote is no different than voting for another tarp bailout. Every republican senator and congressperson who consider themselves to be a part of the tea party needs to be held ACCOUNTABLE for their vote

They voted and passed it but only 90 days, but some are now going to try to make it permenant. We have to gear up to fight this!! http://www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=14037273

Likewise, I formally petition for Mike Lee to have his own section here. It's disgraceful that he doesn't have one yet.
