Apparently the provisions are set to expire Monday, so Friday is the last day the Senate can pass extensions. While they likely will bump it to December, two different versions including the one they tried to pass last night by unanimous consent, would extend it for 3 years, with no revisiting the NSA letters (which aren't in the provisions to be extended; they are now permanent; but are part of what Rand wants to revisit.)
I hope we are planning to back this guy up!
you can find your Senator contact info here: http://senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Yeah, but with TARP at least they knew they had been in a fight!!
I think they need to know the level of support Rand has, regardless of the outcome of this particular vote. Also, there are a range of options they are considering apart from Rand's, to extend to December, to extend 3 years unchanged, or to extend 3 years but sunset NSAs.

Excellent!!
Truly, it is important they know that when Rand speaks he speaks for many, even if they end up extending this unconstitutional bill. He took a stand on our behalf, and the least we can do is back him up, imho!

I don't support the Patriot Act, but isn't the term "traitor" a bit harsh? That's generally a term that neo-cons use to describe anybody who doesn't support perpetual war.
I just submitted web-form emails to both my Senators.

I don't know man. Rand makes a great case that the American Revolution sprung from the writs of assistance.
Anyone who would not recognize the centrality of the 4th amendment (and how it is interrelated to the other amendments) could be described as a traitor to the spirit of the entire constitution.
