This is exactly what RP keeps trying to tell anybody that will listen about entangling alliances...this is about as entangled as you can get...$1.3 billion and now trying to steer their elections in the right direction. Covert operations on the ground have to be costing in the 100's of millions, and god only knows where they are getting that money from...
This awakening across the middle east is going to drag us deeper into debt if we allow elected officials to dig their fingernails into Egypt's (among others) so called democratic process.
We have to keep a close eye on whether or not Washington becomes involved in the constitutional referendum. If they meddle it is our job to make the voices of the Egyptians heard in this country and to make sure elected officials fully understand what is going on.
