Atop turning the WTC memorial into a 700-unit strong armed fortress with a police command center (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?276010-quot-Freedom-Tower-quot-in-NYC-to-be-an-armed-fortress-under-total-surveillance.), the "rushed" memorial will open with "strict capacity limits," only one functional entrance, and mourners will experience the peaceful sound of a construction site on a still-unfinished pork project. The shame brought on the US by these bureaucratic failures to rebuild after a terrorist attack are truly tragic.
"The Sept. 11 memorial will open in the World Trade Center's footprints by the 10th anniversary of the 2001 attacks, but for years afterward access will be limited to a set number of people and mourners will be surrounded on all sides by the noise of construction, the memorial foundation president said Monday.
It will be years before the millions of people who want to visit the center have unfettered access to the memorial site, said Joe Daniels, president of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Ultimately, visitors will be able to approach the memorial and its green spaces and cobblestoned plazas from all sides. But for years visitors will be surrounded by construction of skyscrapers and a transit hub and may only use one entrance; organizers will observe strict capacity limits for safety reasons, Daniels said.
