With the polls I've seen regarding a possible Johnson Senate run, assuming the polls are accurate, it would be STUPID of Johnson to run for President rather than Senate.

Every presidential poll shows Johnson is not known at all, with no support, and we all know he would have to compete with Ron Paul.

All of these Senate polls show Johnson has an EXCELLENT chance to win. First, the general election poll showing Johnson as the only Republican in striking distance of either Dem candidate, now this poll showing him with an excellent chance at the GOP nomination.

Senators Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Jim DeMint, Jeff Flake, and Gary Johnson would do a lot more for this country than a useless Johnson presidential run.

Email Gary Johnson's PAC and encourage him to run for the Senate.

I don't have nearly the issue that some have with Johnson running for president, but I'm liking this Senate run more and more. I'm hoping he'll drop out after Iowa (he won't get much support there anyway) and then goes for the Senate. Hes' still fairly young and could make a run in 2016 or even 2020.

This would be the smart thing to do. He would increase his exposure on the national level and get a bigger donor base that would all but guarantee victory in NM.

To be honest I think Johnson is, unfortunately, in a tight place in the primary. It would have been hoped that he would be a shoe-in. I think he could still win the primary, but it will be a hard-fought primary- basically she would argue he was a liberal supporting drugs and weakness abroad, while he would argue she was a big spender. I would argue the latter is more powerful, but the former will be potent if Wilson could convince the electorate that she is fiscally conservative enough.

But I think Johnson could do it. He has shown a willingness to stay on message, so I would say he would pull it out more than he would not. And if he got to the general, it would be smooth sailing without Bingaman.

Of course Johnson could do it. I'm sure enough New Mexicans love him, otherwise they wouldn't have re-elected him as governor. And obviously since he was governor, he has the name recognition needed.

She has no chance in the General Election, especially against Bingaman. He has a whole slate of arguments to use against her and he's the more competitive challenger.
