I left morning joe on after Dr. Paul's interview and overheard them talking about Obama's upcoming budget proposal. One of the things they said was that it was expected to completely eliminate tax deductions for charitable donations. Wtf?

As compared to Dr. Paul who just won the Charity Organizations' lifetime achievement award this year.

Charity competes with government. Reducing the amount that charities receive will force more people to seek charity from government. Thus more voters for the Democrat party that depend on government.

That kind of legislation would be pure evil and if we had actual independent news media would be the current news cycle until the legislation dies.

Isn't it the government that decides which "charities" are tax deductable? One cannot just give money away to those that need it can they, without paying the tax? Would this end deductions for churches?

This could be a good thing if it hits churches too. Take the church's money and they will raise hell, lol. Let them lobby for lower taxes like the rest of us, I say.
