During Rand's speech the place was packed, so much that a lot of us had to sit up in the balcony where the media was sitting.

When Rand was speaking and the supporters were cheering him on I could hear some gal behind me saying "How can they support these things" and just plain shock at our support of what Rand was saying. She shut up completely when the crowd started chanting "End the Fed!".

Toward the end of Rand's speech some goon stood up and told us we all had to leave because we were in the media section.

I ignored him...like the media ignores us.

That's funny. It really does seem crazy. How could someone support a balanced budget? How could someone support only spending what you bring in? What ludicrous ideas are these! I always bring up the debt and deficits. People want things but they like to pretend it's out of sight out of mind. They don't want to think about how we're going to pay for these things.

I'm in Todd Young district here in Indiana and this lady got on his facebook page and thanked him for cutting 100 billions dollars. I don't think it went through yet but I pointed out how 100 billions dollars is .0666 percent of the 1.5 trillion dollar deficit. I think it points out how ludicrous some people are. Less than 1 percent of the deficit will be eliminated. That's fucking nothing! I can't take it.

100/1500 is actually 6.666%. But yeah, still minuscule.

You people are bad at math. 100 Billion out of 1.5 Trillion is 15%

No.

A billion is a thousand millions.

A trillion is a thousand billions, or a million millions.

So it's the same percentage as the percentage of 100 in 1500, (100/1500)*100=6,666
