I just spent a few minutes adding up all of the ChipIn totals, and the thread title says it all. It really is "amazing, amazing." The grassroots fundraising power that RPF possesses is nothing to scoff at. Raising over $11,000 with no leadership, no committee, or no central campaign to donate to is a great feat and shows the strength and passion of the great members of this forum.

Ron Paul 2012!

As a side note, the donation per vote was about $200.

Very cool stuff. 56 votes is significant when the winning vote total was around 1100, and total votes around 3700. 56 could truly tip the balance if there was a close race between Paul and some other person or people.

And that doesn't count the people from RPF who paid their own way. Altogether, I'm sure the number was pretty large.

Also, I would like to go to the next straw poll if it is at a time when its possible for me to go, but I know I won't be able to afford to go. So how does the chip-in stuff work? I didn't really try to find out this time because I couldn't work out going to CPAC for both not having the money or the opportunity to go either.

All I know is you have to get a paypal account and link it to a bank account. Then I think you go to the chip in site, there is a link there for starting a chip in that I saw when I donated, but I've never actually done one. Ask speciallybland

Two more votes at the 2010 SRLC (enough to ensure a one-vote win by Ron Paul) could have been worth perhaps a few hundred thousand dollars each in terms of the publicity they would have bought.

Thanks for the tips, I'm going to write it down so I don't forget to find out, if I don't do that in just a minute lol.

I am very great full for those who chipped in. Without it I would have been at home. Thank you all.

I am one of those who benefited from the generosity of RPF. Thanks again all. We have the neo-cons (decepticons) running scared.
